"PRAISE IS OUR WAY OF LIFE"
Each person called to faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and Lord has been given the ability to experience joy, peace, and happiness. It is our goal here at St. Mark’s to help people experience a full and complete life, one that leads to living forever in heaven. A meaningful life is ours through faith in Jesus Christ. Every day we live can be exciting and fulfilling when we learn to love God with all our hearts, to love others and to share with them what we have learned (Matthew 22:37-40, 28:18-20). This is best done as we learn to PRAISE God which means we are people of:
Prayer
(Matthew 7:7,8; Luke 18:1; Ephesians 6:18). This congregation believes in the dynamic and life changing power of a personal and corporate prayer life. It is through a growing prayer life that we interact with our Lord and receive the necessary insights and wisdom to live in such a way that He is honored and glorified.
Rejoicing: Worship
(1 Chronicles 16:29; Psalm 95:6; 96:9; Hebrews 10:22-25). This congregation is committed to a life changing worship life. Because God the Father created us to be in harmony with Himself and sent Jesus Christ to be our Savior, who in turn sent the Holy Spirit to draw us to Himself, we regularly gather together to worship and praise our living Lord. Around Word and Sacrament we experience everything necessary for our life on this earth.
Action: Discipleship
(Matthew 28:18-20; 1 Corinthians 9:20-27). This congregation believes in an active and involved life of discipleship. As followers of Jesus Christ we follow His example of spending time with people in order to help them learn the necessary truths that will allow them to reproduce themselves into another generation of believers.
Inreach: Caring
(Galatians 6:1-10). This congregation believes that our love for Jesus Christ must be lived out in helping other people. As people called into our Lord's family by the power of His love, we in turn, see each individual and family unit as an important and integral part of God's creation, who deserve to be treated with respect and dignity. To this end we are committed to a caring ministry that enables people to handle all the various situations in life and enables them to share love with others.
Study: Bible Study
(2 Timothy 3:16; Isaiah 34:16; Deuteronomy 6:3-25). This congregation is completely committed to the Word of God as our Lord's perfect revelation of Himself and His desires for our way of life.
Christian education, on all levels, is an essential ingredient for the spiritual growth and development of every person within our spiritual family.
Expansion: Evangelism
(Matthew 28:18-20). This congregation accepts wholeheartedly the challenge of our Lord to bring to the world His message of grace and forgiveness. As members of the Christian church we have been called by the Holy Spirit to bring the message of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world. This outreach ministry is to be done here in Ferndale, throughout our state and to the four corners of the world.
